The royal culture of Joseon encompasses the king’s daily life, the class system and civil service exams, royal symbols (gonryongpo, gujangbok, royal seal), palace structure (inner and outer quarters), the birth and education of the crown prince, and differences between East Asian and Western royal cultures. This lecture uses artifacts and real examples to clearly explain the authority, traditions, and unique features of Joseon society.
